The Smart Snacks Shape Sorting Cup Cakes from Learning Respires is a delicious way to develop shape and colour identification, and build fine motor skills.

Each two piece cupcake pulls apart to reveal a different shape. Your child will need to match the shapes like a puzzle to put them back together. Then match the shape to the pan bottom.

Your child will use eye-hand coordination along with cooperative hand movements to hold and turn the pieces to fit together. Once the cupcake is complete, your child can further test their matching skills by matching the shape of the cupcake to the shape on the bottom of the pan.

Shapes include circle, square, triangle, rectangle, diamond, hexagon, star, and heart. The frosting color on each cupcake is different to introduce colour identification.

Your child can learn the three primary colours of red, blue, and yellow, three secondary colours of purple, orange, and green, along with pink and teal.
