Wheely Bug was born from a moment of real-life inspiration in 1995, when its Australian founder noticed a 1-year-old neighbour struggling to ride a toy dump truck with wheels that couldn’t turn. This sparked the creation of the first-ever Wheely Bug—a ride-on toy that could move forwards, backwards, sideways, and even spin in place.

The very first models—a Ladybird, Bee, and Frog—were handcrafted in the family home. Since then, Wheely Bug has grown into a globally loved brand, offering over 12 adorable animal designs, each thoughtfully engineered for safe, developmental, and joyful play.
